Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Banico Gas Interlock Solenoid Valve do?

Is this valve suitable for commercial kitchens?

Yes. It is designed specifically for commercial catering environments where gas interlock systems are mandatory.

Does this valve comply with UK commercial kitchen regulations?

Yes. It supports compliance with BS 6173 and Gas Safe requirements for commercial catering installations.

Why do commercial kitchens need a gas interlock solenoid valve?

It ensures that gas cannot be supplied unless extraction and airflow are functioning, reducing fire risk and preventing the build‑up of harmful fumes.

What appliances can this valve be used with?

It is suitable for commercial gas appliances, including cooklines, ovens, fryers, grills, and other equipment connected to a gas interlock system.

Is the valve normally open or normally closed?

It is normally closed, meaning gas remains shut off until the interlock system confirms safe ventilation.

What power supply does the valve require?

The valve operates on 230Vac, 50/60Hz.

What is the maximum operating pressure?

The valve is rated for 360 mbar, suitable for commercial gas installations.

Can this valve be used with any gas interlock panel?
