Canopy UK recently completed a tailored upgrade project for Six, the rooftop restaurant at The Varsity Hotel in Cambridge. The brief focused on improving kitchen workflow, maximising storage efficiency, and ensuring key equipment continued to operate at peak performance.
We began by upgrading the existing shelving system, manufacturing, and installing a set of bespoke table shelves and pan shelves designed to fit seamlessly into the restaurant’s busy kitchen layout. These new stainless‑steel units provide stronger, more organised storage, helping the team keep essential cookware and ingredients within easy reach during service.
As part of the visit, our engineers also carried out a full maintenance service on the heated gantry. This included safety checks, electrical inspection, and performance optimisation to ensure the pass area runs reliably during high‑demand periods. Keeping the gantry in top condition is essential for maintaining food quality and smooth service flow.
This project is a great example of how small, well‑planned upgrades can make a big difference to a commercial kitchen—improving efficiency, extending equipment lifespan, and supporting the team behind the scenes.
