Some types of cooking create more smoke, grease and odours which will be directly extracted into the surrounding air which can cause an upset to your neighbours and also the environment. Therefore when specifying your system it is important for CanopyUk to know the style of cooking and also whether the planning and environmental officers have asked you to include any odour abatement within your system.
Odour control can be costly therefore we always advise that you check with your local council as to whether it is required. More often than not this is something which needs to be included.
The types of odour control that CanopyUk can offer are Electrostatic precipertators units ESP, Carbon Filter blocks, UV units that inject UV particles into the system that bleaches the air and OM100 unit that inject fine mist chemical into the system.
All system that are fitted will remove the grease and smoke from the air and the second neutralises the odours. When you include odour control into your extraction system you will generally require a more powerful extraction fan to allow for the extra resistance through the system.
If you are new to Odour Control and your Local Council or the EHO have asked about it please download your free Odour Risk Assessment guide, You can also download Canopy UK A simplified guide to kitchen ventilation that also covers Odour Control.
